The ban on livestock exports is at risk.

Aotearoa's world leading ban on farmed animal export by sea is under threat with the National-led coalition government promising to repeal it. An expert veterinary panel was held in June 2024 that included an in depth presentation from Dr. Lynn Simpson detailing conditions on board as well as a Q&A with a panel of veterinary experts.
